Crane Prairie Reservoir

Recreation on this 4,940-acre reservoir is located in the Cascade Mountains. There are 24 miles of shoreline. One of the best rainbow trout lakes in the state. Fish exceed 10 pounds. Available species include rainbow trout, brook trout, kokanee salmon, largemouth bass, and whitefish. Fishing season runs from late April through October. Reservoir acre feet and total reservoir capacity and cubic feet/second release rates for rivers below Deschutes River Basin reservoirs and select river locations are updated daily and graphically provided. Reservoir is heavily used by migrating waterfowl.Crane Prairie Dam and Reservoir are features of the Deschutes Project.
