Mackay Reservoir Official Site
Mackay Reservoir Recreation Site (also known as Joe T. Fallini Campground) is a large campground five miles northeast of Mackay on Highway 93. Fees apply ($6 (tent), $10 (w/water), $14 (water and electric), $16 (double site, +$4 for each power pedestal used). Most water-based activities are available at the reservoir including ice fishing in the winter months. This site has a wonderful view of the Lost River Range and underwent reconstruction in 2004/05 to better accommodate modern RV’s and universal accessibility needs. This birdwatcher’s paradise comes alive in spring and fall when thousands of shorebirds and waterfowl, including cinnamon and green winged teal, mallards, shovelers, pintail, scaup, and Canadian geese,flock to the area’s mudflats. Amenities include: Grouse Loop – 14 single R.V. campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, power and water hookups. 4 tent-only sites with central water. Chukar Loop – 4 double R.V. sites, and 4 single R.V. sites with picnic tables, fire rings, power and water hookups. Shade shelters are available for 8 of the RV sites and all of the tent sites. Seasonal campground hosts 5 sets of vault toilets Access and parking to boat ramp and docks (not operated by BLM). Day use area with 4 individual shelters and 1 reservable group shelter ($25/day).
