Overview

The campsites on the Rapid River/Manistique Ranger District are located on inland lakes and are in a rustic forest environment with few, if any amenities. The rustic environment offers a wonderfully serene and peaceful setting for your next campout

Recreation

Visitors will be able to enjoy swimming, berry picking, and fishing at these campsites. Licenses are required for fishing in Michigan waters. Some of these campsites offer only one site on these inland lakes allowing for a very peaceful and wilderness-like experience.

Facilities

Campers will typically find seclusion and privacy at this small, 16 acre lake. The campsite is fairly roomy (70 ft. by 40 ft), grassy, and suitable for 2 families. Access to the lake is by carry-in only and a boat slide has been constructed for small boats or canoes. Limited parking is available. Carr Lake provides fishing for largemouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike and an occasional brook or brown trout. Carr Creek, both upstream and downstream from the lake, offers a good fishery for brook and brown trout The lake does not have good swimming however.

Groceries, gasoline, fishing and camping supplies, ice, and deli are available five miles northeast on County Road 437 in the Thunder Lake Area.
